Meet Dr. Featheringham
Meet Dr. Dale Anne Featheringham, DDS, MS, MBA
Experienced. Accomplished. Personally Invested in Every Smile.
Dr. Dale Anne Featheringham is a private-practice orthodontist in Medina, Ohio, dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized orthodontic care to children, teens, and adults throughout Medina County and the surrounding communities.
A true Buckeye through and through, Dr. Featheringham has built her career around orthodontics, continuing education, professional leadership, and—most importantly—her patients. With more than 25 years of experience as an orthodontist, she brings an extensive depth of knowledge and experience to every smile she treats.
An Ohio State Education
Dr. Featheringham earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1997. She remained at Ohio State to complete her orthodontic residency, earning her Master of Science in Orthodontics in 2000.
Her commitment to education continued beyond clinical training. In 2005, she earned her Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.
This combination of advanced orthodontic training and business education has given Dr. Featheringham a unique perspective on both patient care and practice leadership.
A Career Built in Northeast Ohio
Dr. Featheringham began her orthodontic career in Medina, Ohio, where she worked as an associate for several years. She opened her own practice in Mansfield in 2006 and expanded to Wooster in 2010.
She later joined forces with two fellow orthodontists to form Trio Orthodontics, an eight-location group practice that was eventually acquired by Smile Doctors in 2017.
After years of experience in private practice, group practice, and professional leadership, Dr. Featheringham is thrilled to return to Medina County and build a practice of her own once again.
She is passionate about serving the community she knows and loves and working alongside the talented dental professionals throughout Medina and the surrounding areas.
A Leader in Orthodontics
Dr. Featheringham's commitment to orthodontics extends well beyond her own practice. Throughout her career, she has taken an active leadership role in organized dentistry and orthodontics at the local, state, regional, and national levels.
She is a past president of both the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists and the Ohio Association of Orthodontists and previously served as a Trustee-at-Large for the American Association of Orthodontists. She has also served as Chair of the AAO Council on Government Affairs and as Chair of the GLAO delegation to the AAO House of Delegates.
In recognition of her contributions to the orthodontic profession, Dr. Featheringham received the 2024 Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes members who have demonstrated exemplary service to the organization and the orthodontic profession.
She currently serves as Ohio Director to the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists and continues to be actively involved in advocacy efforts on behalf of orthodontists and their patients.
In 2026, Dr. Featheringham was elected Speaker of the American Association of Orthodontists House of Delegates for 2027–2030, one of the highest leadership positions within the organization.
More Than an Orthodontist
When she's not thinking about teeth, Dr. Featheringham describes herself as a “volunteer-aholic.”
Giving back to her profession and community is an important part of who she is. She has volunteered with professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists, Ohio Association of Orthodontists, Ohio State Dental Alumni Association, and Ohio State Orthodontic Alumni Association, as well as charitable organizations focused on children and their well-being.
Her commitment to service reflects the same philosophy she brings to her practice: investing in people, building relationships, and making a positive difference.
Bringing Experience Home to Medina
After decades of experience in orthodontics and professional leadership, Dr. Featheringham is excited to be back in Medina County and serving the community where her orthodontic career began.
She believes orthodontic care should be personalized to each patient—not simply a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. Her goal is to create an experience where patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their orthodontic journey.
Whether you're considering braces, clear aligners, or simply want to explore your options, Dr. Featheringham and her team are here to help you achieve a healthy, confident smile.
